A total of 299 teaching posts are to be filled across 23 districts in Type-III KGBVs of Andhra Pradesh (excluding East Godavari, Dr. B.R.A. Konaseema, West Godavari, Krishna and Guntur districts). The number of vacancies may change according to need. District-wise roster points are annexed separately with the notification.

AP KGBV Teaching Recruitment 2026 – Eligibility Criteria

All posts are open to women candidates only. English is the medium of instruction in all KGBVs - applicants must be capable of teaching in English medium. The candidate should have studied English as one of the subjects up to graduation level. The candidate must apply in only one district.

TET Qualification: APTET qualified is mandatory for Principal, CRTs (all subjects) and PGTs (general subjects). TET is NOT required for PET and PGTs (Vocational subjects).

Selection is purely merit-based - no written examination is conducted. Merit is calculated on the basis of percentage of marks obtained in academic and professional qualifications, each assigned a specific weightage. The district level committee verifies certificates and prepares the final merit list.

Merit Calculation Formula:

CGPA Conversion: CGPA x 9.5 = Percentage (e.g., 9.0 CGPA = 85.5%)

Tie-Breaking Rule: (i) Elder candidate ranked higher. (ii) If DOB is also same, community priority order: ST > SC (Group I, II, III) > BC-A > BC-B > BC-C > BC-D > BC-E > OC. (iii) Same DOB + same community: highest marks in graduation (CRTs), PG (Principal/PGTs), Intermediate (PETs).

Who should NOT apply for AP KGBV Teaching Recruitment 2026?

• Male candidates - all posts are exclusively for women candidates.

• Candidates who have NOT qualified APTET - TET qualification is mandatory for Principal, CRT (all subjects) and PGT (general subjects). Unqualified candidates are ineligible.

• Candidates currently pursuing final year of Degree, Post-Graduation or B.Ed during the academic year 2025-26 - they are explicitly ineligible.

• Candidates who were previously employed in KGBVs and terminated on disciplinary grounds, misappropriation of funds or deviation of duties.

• Candidates who do not meet the minimum percentage requirements (50% for OC, 45% for BC, 40% for SC/ST/DA) in academic and professional qualifications.

• Differently abled candidates applying for PET post - they are explicitly excluded from PET eligibility.

• Candidates who do not have a valid Local Status Certificate (studied 7 consecutive years in classes 4 to 10 in the district) for the district they are applying in.

• Candidates who wish to apply in more than one district - only one district application is permitted.

• Candidates who intend to apply without uploading all required documents - incomplete applications are summarily rejected.

• Candidates expecting regular/permanent employment or regularisation - this is a contract post for one academic year (2026-27) only, with no right to regularisation.

• Candidates from East Godavari, Dr. B.R.A. Konaseema, West Godavari, Krishna and Guntur districts - KGBVs in these districts are excluded from this notification.

Common Mistakes / What to Check Before Applying AP KGBV Teaching Recruitment 2026?

• Not verifying APTET qualification before applying - TET is mandatory for Principal, CRT and PGT (general) posts. Applying without TET will result in rejection.

• Applying in a district where you are not a local candidate - local status (7 consecutive years study in classes 4–10 in the district) is mandatory. Private school students must get residence certificate from Tahsildar.

• Entering marks higher than actually achieved - intentional inflation of marks is treated very seriously and results in permanent debarment from all government jobs.

• Not converting CGPA correctly - use the formula CGPA x 9.5 for percentage. Using other conversion methods may lead to incorrect merit calculation.

• Applying for multiple districts - only one district application is allowed per candidate.

• Not uploading all required documents - missing documents result in summary rejection. Check the 12-point checklist in the notification before submitting.

• PGT (Commerce) candidates with M.Com in Applied/Business Economics applying - they are explicitly NOT eligible for PGT-Commerce.

• PET candidates with differently abled status applying - PET post is explicitly excluded for differently abled persons.

• Applying offline or sending applications after the closing date (05.06.2026) - only online applications at http://kgbvrecruitment.apcfss.in before the deadline are accepted.

• Not checking that English has been studied as a subject up to graduation level - this is a mandatory requirement for all teaching posts since English is the medium of instruction in KGBVs.

Important Instructions for APSS KGBV Teaching Recruitment 2026 Candidates

• ALL posts are for women candidates only. All rosters for general candidates are also to be filled with women candidates of that particular community.

• All appointments are purely on contract/outsourcing/temporary basis for academic year 2026-27 only. Selected candidates have NO right to seek regularisation, Minimum Time Scale, or enhancement of honorarium.

• The appointing authority has the right to terminate candidates with poor performance at any point of time without any prior notice.

• If any candidate's performance is found unsatisfactory in teaching, or they submit false documents, or misbehave with students - their services may be terminated immediately without prior notice.

• Selected candidates must enter into a Contract Agreement on Rs. 100/- Bond Paper for the period of one academic year 2026-27.

• The State Project Director has all rights to complete or cancel the recruitment at any point of time without prior intimation.

• All candidates must be placed in schools by 20.06.2026 without fail. Any deviation will be viewed very seriously.

• This notification is subject to the outcome of court cases pending before the Hon'ble High Court of Andhra Pradesh.

• No candidate is allowed to apply in more than one district. The district is the unit for applying and appointment for all cadres.

• Candidates who furnished wrong information or claimed higher marks than achieved will be permanently debarred from all government jobs.

• EWS candidates must furnish income certificate below Rs. 8.00 Lakhs per annum issued by the competent authority.
