APSC Assistant Manager Eligibility Criteria 2026

  • The candidate must be an Indian Citizen, as defined in Articles 5 to 8 of the Constitution of India.

  • The candidate must be a permanent resident of Assam.

  • As domicile proof, candidates must upload a copy of a valid Permanent Resident Certificate issued in Assam for educational purposes, or an Employment Exchange Registration Certificate, which will be treated as proof of residency.

Assistant Manager (Mechanical)

Full-time B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from an AICTE-approved University/Institution, same duration norms. Minimum 60% marks in the qualifying examination; 50% for SC/ST candidates.

Assistant Manager (Instrumentation)

Full-time B.E./B.Tech in Instrumentation Engineering from an AICTE-approved University/Institution, same duration norms. Minimum 60% marks in the qualifying examination; 50% for SC/ST candidates.

Assistant Manager (Human Resource)

2-year full-time MBA/PGDM with specialization in Human Resource Management/Personnel Management/Industrial Relations from an AICTE/UGC-approved Indian University/Institution. Minimum 60% marks in the qualifying MBA/PGDM examination; 55% for SC/ST candidates.

For all engineering posts, the course duration should be a minimum of 4 years after HSSLC or equivalent, or 3 years after a full-time Diploma in Engineering from a Govt./Govt.-recognized/AICTE-approved Polytechnic/Institution, or 2 years (base) + 2 years (diploma) + 2 years Engineering course from a Govt./Govt.-recognized/AICTE-approved Institution. Candidates must upload relevant mark sheets/grade sheets of each semester/year reflecting the subjects and the final pass certificate.

APSC Assistant Manager Selection Process 2026

This is a Direct Recruitment. The selection procedure will be notified later, followed by a corrigendum/addendum if required. The Commission will decide the provision for selection considering the status, cadre and grade of the post, or the number of applications received.

The Commission may also decide to conduct the examination/test zone-wise, depending on the number of candidates against the districts shown below. The Commission has the discretion to reduce or increase the number of zones depending on the number of candidates.

Documents to Upload at the Time of Application

How to Apply for APSC Assistant Manager Recruitment 2026

  1. Visit the APSC Recruitment website: https://apscrecruitment.in. No other means or mode of application will be accepted.

  2. If not already registered, click on the 'Register Here' link and complete the One Time Registration (OTR) process with your basic details, using a valid and active e-mail address and mobile number.

  3. Log in using your registered e-mail/mobile number and password.

  4. Fill in the required registration details as asked in the form, carefully reading the eligibility criteria before applying. Mandatory fields are marked with an asterisk (*).

  5. Upload the required documents/certificates (Date of Birth, Educational Qualifications, caste/category, etc.) in PDF format, and your recent Photograph and Signature, as per the specified size limits.

  6. Use the Preview option to check all uploaded documents and details before final submission, then tick the declaration checkbox.

  7. Click 'Proceed to Pay' and pay the prescribed application fee/charges as applicable. Fee once paid will not be refunded.

APSC Assistant Manager Recruitment 2026: Important Instructions

  • No editing of the application will be allowed after final submission; applicants must ensure all details and uploads are correct before submitting.

  • Candidates already in regular Government service of Assam must upload a certificate of employment against the applied post, and an NOC if seeking pay protection or continuation in service.

  • Admission to any stage of selection is purely provisional and subject to scrutiny; candidature will be cancelled if a candidate is later found not to fulfil the eligibility conditions.

  • No request for withdrawal of candidature will be entertained after submission of the application, under any circumstances.

  • No candidate will be allowed to change their claimed category/sub-category at any stage of the selection process.

  • Furnishing wrong, erroneous or incorrect information may lead to disqualification for the applied post, and potentially for other posts advertised by the Commission, up to a period specified by the Commission.
