Veterinary Officer/Block Veterinary Officer (VO/BVO)

APSC Veterinary Officer Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for APSC VO/BVO Recruitment 2026, candidates must meet the nationality, domicile, educational, and age criteria detailed below.

Nationality and Domicile

The candidate must be an Indian Citizen as defined in Articles 5 to 8 of the Constitution of India and must be a permanent resident of Assam. As proof of domicile, candidates must upload either a valid Permanent Resident Certificate issued in Assam for educational purposes or a valid Employment Exchange Registration Certificate.

APSC Veterinary Officer Qualification

Candidates must possess at least a Degree in Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science from any recognized University/Institution. Applicants are required to upload relevant mark sheets/grade sheets of each semester/year reflecting the subjects, along with the final pass certificate.

APSC Veterinary Officer Age Limit

Candidates should not be less than 21 years and not more than 38 years of age as on 01-01-2026. Age is calculated based on the Class-X/Class-XII Examination Admit Card/Pass Certificate/Marksheet issued by a recognized Central/State Board/Council where the Date of Birth is clearly reflected; no other document is accepted for age proof.

APSC Veterinary Officer Selection Process

The selection procedure will be notified later by the Commission through a corrigendum/addendum. The Commission will decide the mode of selection considering the status, cadre, and grade of the post, and the number of applications received. The Commission may also conduct the examination/test zone-wise depending on the number of candidates from each district, based on the following six zones.

  • Permanent Resident Certificate (Assam) or Employment Exchange Registration Certificate as domicile proof

  • Degree mark sheets/grade sheets of each semester/year and final pass certificate in Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science

  • Class-X/Class-XII Admit Card/Pass Certificate/Marksheet showing Date of Birth, for age proof

  • Certificates and mark sheets of all examinations from HSLC onwards up to the qualifying examination

  • Experience Certificate (wherever necessary)

  • Caste certificate issued by the Government of Assam for SC/ST/OBC/MOBC candidates

  • BPL certificate issued by the Government of Assam (wherever necessary)

  • PwBD certificate (40% or more benchmark disability) issued by competent authority, if applicable

  • Ex-Servicemen Identity Card and Discharge Book, if applicable

  • Declaration Form-A regarding "The Small Family Norms" as per Notification No. ABP.69/2019/17 dated 6th November 2019

  • Government employment certificate or No Objection Certificate (NOC), if already in Government service
