• Qualification: Degree in Engineering/Technology (Full time) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from a recognized University or Institution

• Age Limit: As per Apprenticeship Rules

• Pay Scale: INR 12300/- per month

Technician (Diploma) Apprentice - Civil Engineering

• No. of Vacancies: 10

• Qualification: Diploma in Engineering/Technology (Full time) in Civil Engineering from a State Council/Board of Technical Education or recognized University/Institution

• Age Limit: As per Apprenticeship Rules

• Pay Scale: INR 10900/- per month

Technician (Diploma) Apprentice - Electrical and Electronics Engineering

• Qualification: Diploma in Engineering/Technology (Full time) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from a State Council/Board of Technical Education or recognized University/Institution

Selection Process

Selection Procedure:

• Shortlisting of candidates will be done by Board of Apprenticeship Training (SR) based on the percentage of marks obtained in the basic prescribed qualification as applicable to the respective disciplines.

• Shortlisted candidates will be intimated through their registered Email ID.

• Shortlisted candidates have to appear for Certificate Verification at CMWSSB, Chennai.

• No TA/DA will be paid for attending certificate verification.

Educational Qualification

Graduate Apprentice

Candidates must possess one of the following qualifications in the relevant engineering discipline:

• A full-time Degree in Engineering or Technology granted by a statutory university.

• A full-time Degree in Engineering or Technology granted by an institution empowered by an Act of Parliament to award such a degree.

• A graduate examination conducted by a professional body and recognized by the Central or State Government as equivalent to the prescribed qualification.

Technician Diploma Apprentice

Candidates must possess one of the following qualifications in the relevant engineering discipline:

• A full-time Diploma in Engineering or Technology granted by a State Council or Board of Technical Education.

• A full-time Diploma in Engineering or Technology granted by a university.

• A Diploma in Engineering or Technology granted by an institution recognized by the Central or State Government as equivalent to the prescribed qualification.

Who Can Apply?

• The candidate must belong to Tamil Nadu.

• The relevant Degree or Diploma must have been completed in 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025 or May 2026.

• The candidate must hold a full-time qualification in the relevant engineering discipline.

• The candidate must be registered on the NATS portal.

• The candidate must enter the qualification percentage correctly in the NATS profile.

Who Is Not Eligible?

The following candidates are not eligible to apply:

• Candidates who have already completed NATS or NAPS apprenticeship training.

• Candidates who are currently undergoing NATS or NAPS apprenticeship training.

• Candidates possessing one year or more of work experience.

• Candidates who do not belong to Tamil Nadu.

• Candidates who completed the qualification before 2022.

Age Limit

The age limit will be followed according to the applicable Apprenticeship Rules. The notification does not provide a separate minimum or maximum age.

CMWSSB Apprentice Stipend

Training Duration

The apprenticeship training period will be one year under the Apprenticeship Amendment Act, 1973.

Completion of the apprenticeship does not create any right to regular employment in CMWSSB. The organization is not obligated to offer employment after the training period.

Reservation

Reservation for SC, ST, OBC and PwD candidates will be followed according to the Apprentices Act and applicable government rules.

Candidates claiming reservation must produce a valid certificate in the prescribed government format. BC and MBC candidates claiming OBC Non-Creamy Layer reservation must produce an OBC-NCL certificate in the approved format.

The application procedure for is not fully online. Candidates are advised to follow the detailed instructions given below.

1. Visit the NATS portal at https://nats.education.gov.in

2. If you are a first-time user (Category C), click ‘Student Register’ and complete the application form to generate a unique 12-digit Enrollment Number.

3. If already enrolled in the old portal (Category A), click ‘Forgot Password’, enter your registered email to get an activation link, reset your password, and complete migration to the new portal.

4. If already enrolled in the new portal (Category B), login with your email ID and password.

5. After login, under ‘Apply against advertised vacancies’, search for ‘CHENNAI METROPOLITAN WATER SUPPLY AND SEWERAGE BOARD’.

6. Click ‘Apply’ and confirm the status shows ‘Applied’.

7. Upload B.E / B.Tech / Diploma Provisional Certificate or Consolidated Mark Sheet.

8. Ensure percentage of marks is compulsorily entered in the column ‘% of marks / CGPAx10’ in the NATS portal.
