A total of 276 vacancies (tentative) have been announced for the post of Management Trainee (Mining) in E-1 Grade. These are distributed across General (UR), EWS, SC, ST, and OBC (NCL) categories. CIL Management Trainee Recruitment 2026 - Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must fulfill all eligibility conditions as on the closing date of online application (07-06-2026). Only Indian Nationals are eligible to apply. A valid GATE-2025 score in Mining Engineering (Paper Code: MN) is mandatory - GATE scores of any other year (prior to or after 2025) will not be considered valid for this recruitment. The qualifying degree must be from a University/Institute recognized by the appropriate statutory authority in India and must be a regular full-time course.
Candidates having completed their degree or passed their final semester examination as on the cut-off date are eligible. In case of any dispute regarding admissibility of any particular qualification, the decision of the Chairman, Coal India Limited shall be final and binding.

The upper age limit is 30 years as on 30th April 2026 for General (UR) and EWS category candidates. Category-wise relaxations are available as specified below. The maximum age of any applicant on the crucial date (30th April 2026) shall not exceed 56 years under any circumstance. Departmental candidates of Coal India Limited or its Subsidiary companies are not subject to any age limit.

CIL Management Trainee Recruitment 2026 - Selection Process
The selection process for CIL Management Trainee (Mining) Recruitment 2026 is based entirely on the valid GATE-2025 score in Mining Engineering (Paper Code: MN). There is no separate written examination. Eligible candidates will be shortlisted category-wise in the ratio of 1:3 (3 candidates per vacancy) in order of merit based on GATE-2025 Scores/Marks. The final merit list will be prepared on the basis of GATE-2025 Scores/Marks only. An Offer of Appointment will be issued only after successful completion of Documents Verification (DV) and Initial Medical Examination (IME).

Hard copy applications will not be accepted under any circumstances. The online portal will be active from 08-05-2026 (10:00 AM) to 07-06-2026 (6:00 PM). Candidates are advised not to wait until the last date and to register and submit their application well within time. No modifications are allowed after the online application form is submitted. If more than one application is received from a candidate, the most recent/current application will be considered as final.

Important Instructions for CIL Management Trainee Recruitment 2026 Candidates
Only Indian Nationals with a valid GATE-2025 score in Mining Engineering (Paper Code: MN) are eligible to apply.
Qualifying degree must be regular full-time from a University/Institute recognized by appropriate statutory authority in India.
