FRI Group C Recruitment 2026 - Vacancy Details

A total of 91 vacancies have been announced across 9 Group-C posts at Forest Research Institute, Dehradun. The vacancies are distributed across UR, SC, ST, OBC, and EWS categories. The vacancies of PH/Ex-Serviceman/Sports Persons will be filled up first and adjusted against respective categories. The number of vacancies is subject to change or become zero; in the event of a post becoming zero, the application fee will be refunded.

FRI Group C Recruitment 2026 - Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must fulfill all eligibility conditions as on the closing date of online application (03-06-2026). The qualification prescribed should have been obtained from Govt. recognized Universities/Boards/Institutions. Essential qualification is mandatory for all posts. FRI Group C Recruitment 2026 - Age Limit

The crucial date for age calculation will be the last date of submission of online application form i.e. 03-06-2026. Age relaxation is admissible to SC/ST, OBC, PwD, Ex-Serviceman, Central Govt. Civilian Employees, Widows/Divorced Women, and ICFRE Permanent Employees as per Government of India norms. Once a candidate has chosen a reserved category, no request shall be entertained for change to other reserved categories.

FRI Group C Recruitment 2026 - Application Fee

The examination fee per post is Rs. 1500/- (Rs. 800 Application Fee + Rs. 700 Processing Fee) for General/OBC/EWS applicants. Female, SC, ST, and PwD applicants are required to pay only Rs. 700/- as processing fee - they are exempted from payment of the application fee. The examination fee and processing fee once paid will not be refunded or re-adjusted under any circumstances.

FRI Group C Recruitment 2026 - Selection Process

The selection process for FRI Group C Recruitment 2026 consists of 3 successive stages - Stage-I: Computer Based Test (CBT), Stage-II: Descriptive Test, and Stage-III: Skill/Trade Test (for specific posts only). Final merit list will be prepared based on marks secured in the CBT for candidates who qualify both the Descriptive Test and Skill/Trade Test (wherever applicable). No interview will be conducted. Shortlisted candidates (05 times the number of vacancies for each advertised category of post) will be called for the Descriptive Test based on their CBT scores.

Stage-I: Computer Based Test (CBT)

Stage-II: Descriptive Test (Qualifying Nature Only)

Descriptive Test will be of qualifying nature only and is intended to test elementary language skills required for Group-C posts. It will be held for all posts in Dehradun only in Pen and Paper Mode. In case of failure to attain minimum qualifying marks (50% of maximum marks), the candidature will not be considered for final selection/merit. Candidates must not write any personal identity (name, roll number, mobile number, address etc.) inside the Answer Book - failure will be treated as Unfair Means (UFM) and will result in zero marks and rejection of candidature.

Stage-III: Skill/Trade Test (Qualifying Nature Only - For Specific Posts)

Skill/Trade Test will be of qualifying nature only and will be held for candidates who successfully pass the Descriptive Test. Final merit list will be prepared based on marks secured in CBT (with tie-breaking rules as applicable) for the candidates who qualify in the Descriptive and Skill/Trade Test (wherever applicable).

Candidates should read the instructions carefully before filling up the online application form. No other mode of application will be accepted. • Online applications only - no other mode of application will be accepted; applications incomplete in any respect will be summarily rejected.

• Candidates must fully satisfy themselves about their eligibility before applying - if ineligibility is detected at any stage before or after appointment, candidature/appointment shall be cancelled/terminated immediately.
