FRI Group C Recruitment 2026 - Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must fulfill all eligibility conditions as on the closing date of online application (03-06-2026). The qualification prescribed should have been obtained from Govt. recognized Universities/Boards/Institutions. Essential qualification is mandatory for all posts. Candidates should fully satisfy themselves before applying that they possess the minimum qualification and experience as laid down in the advertisement.

Forest Guard

12th Pass with Science from a Government recognized Board. Physical Standards - Men: (i) Walk: 25 Kms. in 4 hours; (ii) Height: Minimum 165 cms; (iii) Chest: 79 cm without expansion and 84 cm with expansion. Women: (i) Walk: 14 Kms. in 4 hours; (ii) Height: Minimum 150 cms; (iii) Chest: 74 cm without expansion and 79 cm with expansion. Note: Appointees will be required to successfully complete Forestry training course from a recognized Forest Guard training institution during the probation period.

Multi Tasking Staff (MTS)

Essential: 10th standard pass from recognized Board/recognized school. Desirable: 3 years or more experience in relevant field.

FRI Group C Recruitment 2026 - Age Limit

The crucial date for age calculation will be the last date of submission of online application form i.e. 03-06-2026. Age relaxation is admissible to SC/ST, OBC, PwD, Ex-Serviceman, Central Govt. Civilian Employees, Widows/Divorced Women, and ICFRE Permanent Employees as per Government of India norms. Once a candidate has chosen a reserved category, no request shall be entertained for change to other reserved categories.

The examination fee per post is Rs. 1500/- (Rs. 800 Application Fee + Rs. 700 Processing Fee) for General/OBC/EWS applicants. Female, SC, ST, and PwD applicants are required to pay only Rs. 700/- as processing fee - they are exempted from payment of the application fee. The examination fee and processing fee once paid will not be refunded or re-adjusted under any circumstances.

FRI Group C Recruitment 2026 - Selection Process

The selection process for FRI Group C Recruitment 2026 consists of 3 successive stages - Stage-I: Computer Based Test (CBT), Stage-II: Descriptive Test, and Stage-III: Skill/Trade Test (for specific posts only). Final merit list will be prepared based on marks secured in the CBT for candidates who qualify both the Descriptive Test and Skill/Trade Test (wherever applicable). No interview will be conducted. Shortlisted candidates (05 times the number of vacancies for each advertised category of post) will be called for the Descriptive Test based on their CBT scores.

Descriptive Test will be of qualifying nature only and is intended to test elementary language skills required for Group-C posts. It will be held for all posts in Dehradun only in Pen and Paper Mode. Online submission of application can only be made from the link provided on the official FRI website at https://fri.icfre.gov.in. Candidates should read the instructions carefully before filling up the online application form. No other mode of application will be accepted. Candidates who desire to apply for more than one post should apply online separately for each post. However, FRI will not be responsible if candidates get the exam centre at long distances or on the same date/time.

Candidates are advised to submit online applications well before the closing date to avoid the possibility of disconnection/inability or failure to login to the FRI website due to heavy load during the closing date. Important Instructions for FRI Group C Recruitment 2026 Candidates

  • Online applications only - no other mode of application will be accepted; applications incomplete in any respect will be summarily rejected.

  • Candidates must fully satisfy themselves about their eligibility before applying - if ineligibility is detected at any stage before or after appointment, candidature/appointment shall be cancelled/terminated immediately.
