Staff Nurse, Class III

• Qualification: B.Sc. (Nursing) from a recognized University/Institution recognized by Gujarat Nursing Council or Indian Nursing Council; OR Diploma in General Nursing Midwifery from an institution recognized by Gujarat Nursing Council or Indian Nursing Council. Basic computer knowledge. Adequate knowledge of Gujarati or Hindi or both.

• Age Limit: 18 to 35 years as on 12/10/2026. Age relaxation: General Female: 5 years (max 40); Reserved Male: 5 years (max 40); Reserved Female: 10 years (max 45); General PwD Male: 10 years (max 45); General PwD Female: 15 years (max 45); Reserved PwD Male: 15 years (max 45); Reserved PwD Female: 20 years (max 45); Ex-Servicemen: Service period + 3 years.

• Pay Scale: Fixed pay of Rs. 40,800/- per month for first 5 years. After 5 years (if service satisfactory): Pay Scale Rs. 29,200/- to Rs. 92,300/- (Level-5) as per 7th Pay Commission.

Educational Qualification

Citizenship

The candidate must be a citizen of India, or possess nationality as provided under Rule-7 of the Gujarat Civil Services Classification and Recruitment (General) Rules, 1967.

Important: Candidates lacking a valid computer-knowledge certificate may still apply, but must submit proof of passing a basic computer knowledge test before appointment; failure to do so will lead to cancellation of selection. Selection Procedure:

• Written Competitive Examination (MCQ/OMR/CBRT):

  • Paper-I – Nursing Subject (100 Marks, 2 Hours): Fundamental of Nursing (20), Medical Surgical Nursing (20), Midwifery and Paediatric Nursing (20), Mental Health and Psychiatric Nursing (20), Community Health Nursing (20). Exam can be given in Gujarati or English. Minimum qualifying marks: 40%.

  • Paper-II – Gujarati Language (100 Marks, 2 Hours): Language (30), Grammar (40), Literature (30). Exam in Gujarati only. Minimum qualifying marks: 40%.

  • Negative marking: 1/4 marks deducted for each wrong answer.

  • Both papers must be passed independently.

  • Merit list prepared based on total marks of both papers.

• Document Verification: Approximately 2x the number of vacancies will be called for document verification based on merit.

• Final Selection/Waiting List: Prepared based on merit and category-wise vacancies after document verification.

1. Visit the official website: https://ojas.gujarat.gov.in

2. Click on ‘Online Application’ and then click ‘Apply’, then select GSSSB.

3. Click on the advertisement for Staff Nurse, Class III (Advertisement No. 458/202627) and click ‘Apply Now’.

4. Complete OTR (One Time Registration) if not already done. Only OTR-registered candidates can fill the application form.

5. Enter Registration Number and Date of Birth, then click ‘Apply with OTR’ to open the Application Format.

6. Fill in ‘Personal Details’ (fields marked with red asterisk * are mandatory).

7. Fill in ‘Educational Details’.

8. Accept the ‘Assurance’ (terms and conditions) by selecting ‘Yes’ and click ‘Save’. An Application Number will be generated – save it.

9. Upload Photograph (5 cm height x 3.6 cm width) and Signature (2.5 cm height x 7.5 cm width) in JPG format (max 15 KB each). Photo must have white background with date of photograph (not older than 1 year from last date of application).
