Successful completion of training as specified by the Food Authority in a recognized institute or institution approved for the purpose. This training is given after appointment, and candidates who complete it successfully will be notified as Food Safety Officer.
Hindi or Sanskrit as one of the subjects in Matriculation, or Hindi as one of the subjects in Higher Education.
No person who has any financial interest in the manufacture, import, or sale of any article of food shall be appointed as Food Safety Officer under the Food Safety & Standard Rules, 2011, as amended from time to time. The qualifications for the post are as per the relevant Service Rules, and no claim of equivalent qualification will be considered unless specified in those Service Rules.

Selection Procedure:
The Commission generally follows a three-stage recruitment process: Screening Test followed by Subject Knowledge Test and Interview.
In case of a large number of applications, the Commission may shortlist candidates by one or more of the following methods:
On the basis of percentage of marks in the minimum educational qualification.
On the basis of percentage of marks in different educational qualifications with weightage as decided by the Commission.
On the basis of desirable qualifications.

Register online by visiting https://hpsc.gov.in using your Mobile Number. A URN will be created after successful registration.
Log in using your login ID and fill up the online application form with all required particulars and details carefully.

Pay the requisite application fee through online mode (Net Banking, Debit Card, Credit Card) before the closing date.
After payment, take a printout of the application form, check for any errors, sign it, and upload the signed copy.
