IOB Recruitment 2026 Selection Process

Selection Procedure:

1. Online Examination: Candidates will be shortlisted based on an Online Examination consisting of 100 objective-type questions (2 hours duration). The exam includes:

   • For Generalist Officer (Branch Management) Scale II: English Language (25 Qs, 25 Marks, 30 min) + Professional Knowledge (75 Qs, 75 Marks, 90 min)

   • For All Other Posts (Scale I/II/III): English Language (25 Qs, 25 Marks, 30 min) + General Awareness with Special Reference to Banking Industry (25 Qs, 25 Marks, 30 min) + Professional Knowledge (50 Qs, 50 Marks, 60 min)

2. Minimum Qualifying Marks: 30% for reserved candidates and 35% for unreserved candidates in the Online Examination (in Professional Knowledge section). No minimum qualifying marks for General Awareness and English Language sections.

3. Negative Marking: 1/4th of the mark allotted will be deducted for each wrong answer. No penalty for unattempted questions.

4. Interview: Candidates qualifying in the Online Examination will be called for a Personal Interview. Maximum marks: 100. Minimum qualifying marks: 50% for unreserved candidates and 45% for reserved candidates. Interview will assess Role-related Exposure, Subject Knowledge, and Communication Skills.

5. Final Merit List: Prepared by assigning 80% weightage to Online Examination and 20% weightage to Interview.
