Deoghar Home Guard Eligibility Criteria

Residence Eligibility

• Rural Home Guard: The candidate must be a permanent resident of the same block in Deoghar district from which they are applying, supported by a self-attested residence certificate issued by the competent authority.

• Urban Home Guard: The candidate must be an ordinary resident of the urban area of Deoghar district, supported by a self-attested residence certificate issued by the competent authority.

   • For Technical Urban Home Guards: Male must complete 1 mile in 6 min (20 marks) or 6-8 min (10 marks); Female in 8 min (20 marks) or 8-12 min (10 marks).

2. Hindi Writing Ability Test: Qualifying in nature. Full marks: 100, Pass marks: 30. Level: 7th class for Rural, 10th class for Urban candidates.

3. Technical Proficiency Test (Only for Technical Urban Home Guard candidates): Qualifying in nature. Full marks: 100, Pass marks: 30.

4. Merit List Preparation: Based on marks obtained in physical test and other criteria as per notification. Sports achievements at National/State level carry additional bonus marks (National: 1st-6 marks, 2nd-4 marks, 3rd-2 marks; State: 1st-3 marks, 2nd-2 marks, 3rd-1 mark).

5. Document Verification, Medical Examination & Police Character Verification: For selected candidates.

6. Basic Training: Selected candidates will undergo Home Guard basic training after approval from Jharkhand Home Guard Corps Headquarters, Ranchi.

7. Enrollment: Successful trainees will be enrolled as Home Guards and issued enrollment certificates.
