JKSSB Recruitment 2026 Vacancy Details

The 357 vacancies are distributed across four items covering two posts in the Jammu and Kashmir Divisions, under the Public Works (R&B) Department.

Category-wise Vacancy Breakup

OM refers to Open Merit, SC to Scheduled Castes, ST-1/ST-2 to Scheduled Tribes, RBA to Residents of Backward Areas, EWS to Economically Weaker Sections, OBC to Other Backward Classes, and ALC/IB to Residents of areas adjoining the Line of Actual Control/International Border. The actual number of posts may increase or decrease during the selection process, and the notification is subject to the outcome of any pending court proceedings.

JKSSB Recruitment 2026 Eligibility Criteria

Domicile

Candidates must be Domiciles of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir and must possess a valid Domicile Certificate issued by the competent authority in the prescribed format, valid on or before the cut-off date of 30.08.2026.

Educational Qualification

Candidates shortlisted for Document Verification must produce original certificates proving their qualification was obtained strictly on or before the cut-off date.

JKSSB Recruitment 2026 Age Limit

Age is reckoned as on 01.01.2026 for all categories.

Age Relaxation for Ex-Servicemen

Every Ex-Servicemen who has served in the Armed Forces is allowed to deduct the period of such service from their actual age. If the resultant age does not exceed the maximum age limit prescribed for the post by more than 3 years, the candidate is deemed to satisfy the age condition. No candidate under any category should be born after 01.01.2008.

JKSSB Draftsman and Works Supervisor Salary / Pay Scale

Appointment and other service conditions of selected candidates will be governed as per the extant rules and regulations of the Government of the UT of Jammu and Kashmir.

JKSSB Recruitment 2026 Application Fee

Fee can be paid only through online mode, that is, Net Banking, Credit Card, or Debit Card. Applications submitted without the prescribed fee will be summarily rejected. Fee once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances, nor adjusted against any other examination or selection.

JKSSB Recruitment 2026 Selection Process

Selection for both Draftsman (Civil) and Works Supervisor posts will be made purely on the basis of merit obtained in a written/OMR examination.

• The examination will consist of Objective Type, Multiple Choice Questions set in English language only.

• There will be negative marking of one-fourth of the marks assigned to each wrong answer.

• The syllabus for the posts will be notified separately on the official JKSSB website.

• Candidature at the examination stage is provisional; ineligible candidates identified later will not proceed to subsequent stages.

• Shortlisted candidates will then undergo Document Verification (DV) with original certificates.

Documents Required for JKSSB Document Verification

• Printout of the online application form

• Original Domicile Certificate valid as on the cut-off date

• Original educational/technical qualification certificates

• Category/Reservation Certificate in the prescribed format, wherever applicable

• Birth Certificate or equivalent proof of date of birth

• Bonafide Certificate (for candidates who obtained degrees from universities outside J&K, other than Central Universities)

• Ex-Servicemen Certificate in Form-XIV, where applicable

• Two recent passport-size colour photographs (not older than six months)

• Valid original Photo ID proof such as Aadhaar Card, Voter ID, Driving Licence, PAN Card, or Passport

How to Apply for JKSSB Recruitment 2026

Candidates can apply for JKSSB Recruitment 2026 in online mode only, between 01.08.2026 and 30.08.2026. The detailed instructions and the online application portal link will be made available separately on the official JKSSB website. No other mode of application will be accepted.

• In-service candidates must submit a printout of the filled online application, along with the certificate at the end of the application form, duly signed and forwarded through their Head of Department, to the Office of the Secretary, JKSSB, before the last date of Document Verification.

JKSSB Recruitment 2026 Important Instructions

• Only one online application is allowed per candidate for the same item number; duplicate applications will lead to cancellation and debarment.

• Candidates must write their name, date of birth, father's name, and mother's name exactly as recorded in the Matriculation Certificate.

• No request for change or correction in the application form will be entertained once submitted.

• Candidates should submit their applications well before the closing date to avoid last-minute technical issues.

• Applications with blurred or illegible photographs/signatures will be rejected summarily.

• Candidates must carry two recent passport-size colour photographs and an original photo ID proof to the examination venue.

• Use of mobile phones, smart watches, smart glasses, AI-enabled devices, or any electronic/communication device is strictly prohibited in the examination hall.

• PwBD candidates may avail the facility of a scribe and/or compensatory time of 20 minutes per hour, subject to submission of the prescribed certificates (Annexure-B and Annexure-C).

• No TA/DA will be paid for participation in the written test or document verification.
