Candidates must satisfy all the following requirements:
Passed Higher Secondary or 10+2 examination from a recognized board.
Passed Hindi shorthand examination at a speed of 100 words per minute from a recognized board, council, polytechnic, ITI or equivalent institution.
Possess a valid CPCT certificate with Hindi typing.
Possess an approved computer qualification.

Candidates must satisfy the following requirements:
Passed the 10+2 or Class 12 examination from a recognized board or institution.

Selection Process

Selection Procedure:
Phase 1 – Online Written Examination (MCQ): Duration: 2 hours, 100 questions, 100 marks. Subjects: General Knowledge & Logical Reasoning (40 marks), Intellectual Ability & Mental Aptitude (30 marks), Science & Simple Arithmetic (30 marks). No negative marking. Result declared on Percentile basis. Candidates 7 times the advertised vacancies (vertical category-wise) will be shortlisted for Phase 2.
Phase 2 – Document Verification & Practical Examination:
Document Verification conducted by a Selection Committee formed by the Director General of Police.
Practical Exam for Subedar (Secretarial) Stenographer: Hindi Shorthand Dictation (100 wpm, 5 minutes x 2) and Transcription Typing on computer (20 minutes each). Total: 100 marks. Minimum qualifying marks: 30%.
Practical Exam for ASI (Secretarial): Hindi Typing – two paragraphs of 600 words each, 30 minutes each on computer. Total: 100 marks. Minimum qualifying marks: 30%.
Physical Measurement: Height – Male: 162 cm, Female: 152 cm. No relaxation in physical standards.
Medical Examination: Conducted by District Medical Board. Vision, flat foot, knock-knee, and physical fitness checked.
Character Verification: As per Home Department, MP Government order.
Final Merit List: Based on combined marks of Written Exam and Practical Exam. Tie-breaking by age (older candidate ranked higher).
Appointment: Selected candidates placed on 3-year probation and sent for mandatory training.
