Detail

Description

Selection Basis

Local Preference

Preference given to candidates from neighbouring villages within 16 km radius of MAPS Plant Site. If all trades are not filled by local candidates, merit list is extended to other applicants.

Tie-Breaking Rule 2

In case of tie in Date of Birth also, candidate with higher percentage in Matriculation (10th) will be ranked higher

Stage 2 – Document Verification

Shortlisted candidates will be called for document verification. All original certificates and self-attested copies must be produced. Candidature is provisional and subject to verification of originals at all stages. False information/documents at any stage will result in rejection and may lead to prosecution.

Common Mistakes / What to Check Before Applying NPCIL MAPS Apprentice Recruitment 2026?

  • Not registering on the correct portal before applying - Trade Apprentices must register on NAPS 2.0 (apprenticeshipindia.gov.in), while Diploma and Graduate Apprentices must register on NATS 2.0 (nats.education.gov.in). Applying without this registration will make the candidature invalid.

  • Not linking Aadhaar with bank account before registration on the portal - this is a mandatory prerequisite.

  • Applying for a trade/discipline in which PwBD candidature is not identified - check the detailed PwBD eligibility table for each trade before applying.

  • Diploma/Graduate candidates not providing the authenticated CGPA-to-percentage conversion formula from their institution - if not provided, NPCIL's standard conversion table will be applied, which may result in a lower equivalent percentage than expected.

  • Sending an incomplete application or an application without proper enclosures - such applications will be summarily rejected without any communication.

  • Missing the last date - applications received after 30/06/2026 for any reason will not be considered. Postal delays are not an excuse; apply well in advance.

  • Not enclosing 4 passport-size photographs or forgetting to affix a photograph on the application form.

  • Welder trade applicants not attaching 8th standard mark sheet (required additionally for this trade).

  • Candidates living within 16 km of MAPS not attaching residential proof of permanent address - this is required to avail local preference in selection.

  • Filling in the wrong category (SC/ST/OBC/EWS/UR) - category cannot be changed later and mismatch at document verification will lead to cancellation.
