OPSC Assistant Public Prosecutor Age Limit
The OPSC Assistant Public Prosecutor Age Limit is calculated as on 1st January 2026:
Minimum age: 21 years

OPSC Assistant Public Prosecutor Salary
Selected candidates for the OPSC Assistant Public Prosecutor post will be placed in the pay scale of Rs. 44,900/- in Level 10 of the Pay Matrix under ORSP Rules, 2017, along with usual Dearness Allowance and other Allowances as may be sanctioned by the Government of Odisha from time to time. The notification states that all persons appointed under the Government of Odisha on or after 1st January 2005 are covered by the Contributory Pension Scheme under the Odisha Civil Services (Pension) Amendment Rules, 2005, and are not eligible for pension under the earlier Odisha Civil Service (Pension) Rules, 1992.
OPSC Assistant Public Prosecutor Application Fee
As per the Odisha Payment of Recruitment Examination Fees and Refund Rules, 2025, the OPSC Assistant Public Prosecutor Application Fee structure is as follows:

The examination fee paid will be refunded only to candidates who actually appear in the Preliminary Examination; refunds will be processed after completion of the Preliminary Examination to the original mode of payment (Credit Card, Debit Card, UPI, Wallet, etc.). Candidates must also furnish bank account details (Account Number, IFSC Code, Account Holder Name, Bank Branch Name) in the online form, to be used only if the original-mode refund fails due to technical issues. Selection Procedure:
The recruitment for the post of Assistant Public Prosecutor in Group-B of Odisha State Prosecution Service shall be conducted in three stages:
1. Preliminary Examination (100 Marks):
Objective Type Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ Pattern) with OMR Evaluation or Computer-Based Test (CBT).
100 questions, each carrying 1 mark. Duration: 2 hours.
Negative marking: 25% marks deducted for each wrong answer.
Un-attempted questions: Zero marks.
Qualifying marks to be decided by the Commission for each category.
Candidates qualifying will be shortlisted for Main Examination (not more than 10 times the total vacancies per category).
Marks in Preliminary Examination will NOT be counted in the final Merit List.
2. Main Examination (650 Marks):
Written Examination (600 Marks): 4 Papers, each carrying 150 Marks. Subjective and Descriptive Answer type. Duration: 2.5 to 3 hours per paper.
Personality Test/Interview (50 Marks): Candidates shortlisted in ratio 1:2 (minimum 5) with reference to vacancies per category.
3. Select List:
Final Merit List prepared based on marks in Written Examination and Personality Test/Interview combined.
In case of tie, candidate with higher marks in Written Examination placed higher. Further tie resolved by date of birth (older candidate placed higher).

Visit the official website of OPSC at https://www.opsc.gov.in.
Read the detailed advertisement carefully before filling up the online application form.
Register and fill the Online Application Form available on the OPSC portal from 28.08.2026 to 28.09.2026 (5:00 PM).
Upload scanned images of latest passport size photograph, full signature, and Left-hand Thumb Impression (LTI).
Upload all required original scanned documents/certificates in the e-Chayan portal of the Commission.
Pay the examination fee of Rs. 700/- through online mode (not applicable for SC/ST/PwD candidates).
Furnish bank account details (Account Number, IFSC Code, Name of Account Holder, Name of Bank Branch) in the Online Application Form.
Submit the Online Application Form before the closing date. On successful submission, a unique Permanent Public Service Account Number (PPSAN) will be assigned.
Take a printout of the finally submitted online Registration and Online Application Form and put signature under the declaration for future submission to OPSC when asked.
Applications received through any other mode will not be accepted and will be summarily rejected.
OPSC Assistant Public Prosecutor Important Instructions
The venue of both the Preliminary and Main Examination will be Kataka (Cuttack); detailed venue information will be intimated in due course.
Government servants (temporary or permanent) applying must inform their Head of Office in writing and furnish a "No Objection Certificate" during document verification; they are advised to obtain the NOC well in advance.
SEBC certificates must be issued on or after 29.08.2023 to be considered valid; those issued earlier will not be accepted.
Women candidates belonging to SC/ST/SEBC must submit caste certificates showing "daughter of ___"; certificates by virtue of marriage ("wife of ___") are not acceptable.
OBC certificates will not be accepted in lieu of an SEBC certificate.
Every candidate selected for appointment shall be examined by the Medical Board; failure to satisfy the medical requirement will result in non-appointment.
Candidates found guilty of malpractice, seeking illegal support, or submitting forged/manipulated documents will be disqualified and may be debarred permanently or for a specified period from any OPSC recruitment; candidates adopting unfair means in the Written Examination will be permanently debarred.
Applications that are incomplete in any respect, including non-uploading of required documents, are liable for rejection without any correspondence.
Mere empanelment in the select list does not confer any right to appointment unless the Government is satisfied, after due enquiry, that the candidate is suitable in all respects.
Submission of an NPS application is mandatory for all recommended candidates at the time of joining Government service.
Any complaint regarding conduct of the examination must be sent to the Grievance Wing of the Commission by email (opsc@nic.in) within 7 (seven) days of completion of the examination.
