OSSC FSO Recruitment 2026 - Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must fulfill all eligibility conditions as on the last date of submission of Online Application Form. Candidates must be a citizen of India, of good character, of sound health and free from organic defects, able to read, write and speak Odia fluently (with proof via Middle School/Matriculation/Class-VII exam with Odia as subject). If married, must not have more than one spouse living.

OSSC FSO Recruitment 2026 - Age Limit
Candidates must be minimum 21 years and maximum 42 years as on 01-01-2025. The upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for SEBC, SC, ST, and all Women candidates, and by 10 years for PwD candidates. PwD candidates belonging to SC/ST category are entitled to a cumulative relaxation of 10 years over and above the normal relaxation for their category. Candidates falling under more than one category shall be eligible for only one benefit of age relaxation, whichever is most beneficial.

OSSC FSO Recruitment 2026 - Application Fee
Candidates are required to pay the examination fee through the online mode only via the Odisha Treasury portal linked with the online application form. Fee once paid will be refunded only to candidates who actually appear in the first stage (Preliminary Examination) of the recruitment. Applications without payment of examination fees (except SC/ST/PwD candidates) will be treated as incomplete and liable for rejection. All candidates must clearly mention their valid/active bank account details in the online application for receiving the refundable fee.

OSSC FSO Recruitment 2026 - Selection Process
The selection process for OSSC Food Safety Officer Recruitment 2026 consists of 3 (three) successive stages – Stage I: Preliminary Examination (150 marks, CBT/OMR, 150 minutes), Stage II: Main Written Examination (200 marks, CBT/OMR, Technical Paper) + Computer Skill Test (qualifying, 50% marks required), and Stage III: Certificate Verification. Candidates failing to appear at any stage will be rejected and will not be included in the merit list. The Commission at its discretion may conduct the examination through OMR or CBRE mode.

OSSC FSO Recruitment 2026 - Exam Syllabus
The Preliminary Examination is based on a general indicative syllabus (Annexure-C). The Main Written Examination Technical Paper syllabus for Food Safety Officer is given in Annexure-D (Section II) of the official notification. All papers are MCQ-based, bilingual (Odia and English), except Paper I of the Main Exam (language). The exam medium option once given in the online application cannot be changed.

Applications must be submitted online only through the OSSC official website https://www.ossc.gov.in. No physical/hard copy application will be accepted. New users must click on "NEW USER" button and complete Online Registration. Registered users must click on "REGISTERED USER" and proceed to fill the application form. The candidate can exercise options for more than one post/service as per their eligibility. Only one online application is allowed per candidate; multiple applications will result in cancellation of all applications. Candidates are strongly advised to submit the application well in advance without waiting for the closing date.
Candidates must upload valid Certificate and Marksheet(s) of qualifying degree at the time of online application. SC/ST/SEBC category candidates must submit valid online caste certificate details. Government servants/PSU employees must upload NOC at the time of application. PwD candidates must upload permanent disability certificate issued by UDID. Important Instructions for OSSC FSO Recruitment 2026 Candidates
Only bonafide Indian citizens are eligible to apply; must be able to read, write and speak Odia fluently.
Candidates must possess the requisite qualification on the last date of submission of Online Application Form.
