Who Can Apply for Register A-II (Advt. No. 20263)?

Register A-II is open to members of Group A and Group B services of Punjab Government who are holding ministerial appointments not below the level of Senior Assistants and serving in connection with the affairs of the State of Punjab.

Important: Employees of Universities, Boards, Societies, PUDA, GMADA, PSPCL, PSTCL, Corporations etc. are NOT eligible.

Who Can Apply for Register-C (Advt. No. 20264)?

Register-C is open to members of Group A and Group B services of Punjab Government who are NOT covered under any of the following categories:

  • Register A-I: District Revenue Officers / Tehsildars / Naib Tehsildars

  • Register A-II: Officers/officials holding "Ministerial appointments"

  • Register A-III: Block Development & Panchayat Officers / District Development & Panchayat Officers / Assistant Excise & Taxation Commissioner / Excise & Taxation Officers

Important: Employees of Universities, Boards, Societies, PUDA, GMADA, PSPCL, PSTCL, Corporations etc. are NOT eligible.

Common Eligibility Conditions for Both Registers (as on 01 November 2025)

Service Condition: The candidate must be a confirmed hand and must have completed 8 years of continuous service under the Punjab Government.

Age Limit: The candidate must be below 54 years of age as on 01 November 2025.

Educational Qualification: The candidate must be a Graduate of a recognized university as on 01 November 2025.

Punjabi Requirement: Proof of having passed Punjabi language up to Matriculation level or its equivalent is required.

Note on Register Selection: Candidates must carefully verify from their respective department which Register they fall under before applying. No change in the type of register will be permitted at any stage by PPSC.

Important Notes on Fee:

  • Fee must be paid through online mode ONLY (Credit Card, Debit Card, Net Banking, UPI, NEFT/RTGS).

  • Candidates claiming fee concession must submit a self-attested copy of the relevant certificate along with the hard copy of the application form. Failure to submit this certificate will result in forfeiture of fee concession.

The selection process for both Register A-II and Register-C consists of four stages with a total of 100 marks:

Stage 1 - Screening Test: A Common Screening Test will be conducted for both Register A-II and Register-C. However, merit lists will be prepared separately for each register. Candidates scoring a minimum of 30% marks and ranking within 3 times the number of vacancies (in merit order) will be shortlisted for the interview.

Stage 2 - Assessment of Service Records (ACRs/APARs): Last 5 years ACRs will be considered. If 5-year record is not available, the preceding year ACRs will be considered.

Stage 3 - Length of Service: Maximum 15 marks. For each completed year of service beyond the mandatory 8 years, 0.54 marks are awarded. Full 15 marks are awarded upon completing 28 years of service beyond the initial 8 years (i.e., 36 total years of service).

Stage 4 - Interview: 15 marks. The interview panel assesses the candidate's suitability based on personal qualities. Screening test marks are not disclosed to the interview panel.

Final Result: Prepared by adding 50% of screening test marks + ACR marks + Length of Service marks + Interview marks.

PPSC PCS (Executive Branch) Recruitment 2026 - Scribe Facility & Compensatory Time for PwD Candidates

Compensatory Time: Candidates with benchmark disability (40% or more) are eligible for 20 minutes compensatory time per hour of examination. UDID Card/Online Disability Certificate must be submitted at PPSC Reception Counter or by email at supdt.exam@ppsc.gov.in on or before 30 July 2026.

Scribe Facility - Eligible Categories (automatic entitlement):

  • Blindness

  • Locomotor Disability (Both Arms Affected)

  • Cerebral Palsy

Scribe Facility - Other PwD Candidates: May avail scribe on production of a certificate from Chief Medical Officer/Civil Surgeon/Medical Superintendent of a Government Health Care Institution certifying physical limitation to write.

Candidates with less than 40% disability (Section 2(s) of RPwD Act, 2016): May avail scribe/compensatory time as per Punjab Government Letter No. 3/3/2024-3DS/232 dated 12.11.2025, subject to a certificate from a Multi-Member Medical Authority.

Scribe Qualification: One step below the minimum educational qualification prescribed for the post (i.e., Higher Secondary if the post requires Graduation).

Candidates can either arrange their own scribe or request PPSC to provide one. All scribe-related documents including UDID certificate, medical certificate, Scribe Proforma (Annexure-G) and Affidavit (Annexure-H) must be submitted by 30 July 2026.

Documents Required for Hard Copy Submission

After submitting the online application, candidates must send the following documents through their Head of Department to PPSC Patiala by 30 July 2026:

1. Certificate from Head of Department (Annexure-A - Original): Certifying the candidate's service details, group, confirmation status, age, qualification and integrity.

2. Service Record Proforma by Head of Department (Annexure-B): Complete service record details verified and certified by the Head of Department.

3. Scrutiny Form filled by Candidate (Annexure-C): Self-declared form with personal, educational and service details.

4. Proof of Date of Birth: Matriculation/Higher Secondary certificate.

5. Graduation Degree Certificate: Copy of degree from a recognized university.

6. Punjabi Language Proof: Certificate of having passed Punjabi up to Matriculation level or equivalent.

7. Reserve Category Certificate (if applicable): Only for claiming fee concession, issued by the Competent Authority.

8. Confirmation Certificate: Proof of confirmation in Punjab Government service.

9. UDID Certificate (if applicable): Only for availing compensatory time or scribe facility as per rules.

Critical Note: Failure to submit the hard copy through proper channel by 30 July 2026 (5:00 PM) will result in outright rejection of candidature.

How to Apply for PPSC PCS (Executive Branch) Register A-II & Register-C Recruitment 2026

Eligible candidates must apply online through the official PPSC website before 30 June 2026.

Step 1 - Register Online: Visit www.ppsc.gov.in and click on the relevant advertisement link (Advt. No. 20263 for Register A-II / Advt. No. 20264 for Register-C). Register using your details and note your Registration Number and Password.

Step 2 - Upload Photo and Signature: Upload your color photograph and signature (file size: 10 KB to 40 KB each) in the designated section. This step is mandatory before proceeding to fee payment.

Step 3 - Fill Application Form: Enter all required details carefully including personal information, service details, educational qualifications, category, and group. Verify all details before submitting as no changes will be allowed after fee payment.

Step 4 - Pay Application Fee: Click "Pay Now" and pay the applicable fee via Credit/Debit Card, Net Banking, UPI, or NEFT/RTGS. On successful payment, download and save the payment receipt. If the transaction shows "Pending" despite payment deduction, click "Verify Status" for reconciliation.

Step 5 - Submit & Print Application: After successful fee payment, submit the application form. Take a printout of the complete application form and save the Application Number for future reference including Admit Card download.

Step 6 - Submit Hard Copy through Proper Channel: Send the printed application form along with all required documents (Annexure A, B, C and certificates mentioned at clauses 5.4.1 to 5.4.9) through the Head of Department to the Office of PPSC, Baradari Gardens, Patiala - 147001 by 30 July 2026 (5:00 PM). Applications not received through proper channel will be rejected.
