SBI Junior Associate Recruitment 2026 Important Dates

SBI Junior Associate Vacancy 2026: State-wise Details

A total of 7,680 regular vacancies and 1,444 backlog vacancies are notified across 24 Circles/States/UTs. Candidates can apply for only one State/UT and must be proficient in that State/UT's specified local language. The Bank has clarified that these vacancies are provisional and may vary depending on actual requirement.

The "Regular Vacancies" column shows figures in the order SC/ST/OBC/EWS/GEN/Total. Backlog vacancies for PwBD and Ex-Servicemen/Disabled Ex-Servicemen (XS/DXS) categories are shown separately from the backlog SC/ST/OBC figures, as given in the notification; the source does not provide one single combined backlog total per state, so these are kept as separate columns rather than summed. Backlog vacancies are net of the vacancies advertised in the Special Recruitment Drive (Advt. No. CRPD/CR/SPLDRIVE/2026-27/16) for SC/ST/OBC candidates.

SBI Junior Associate Recruitment 2026 Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification (As on 31.12.2026)

Graduation in any discipline from a recognized University, or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government. Candidates with an Integrated Dual Degree (IDD) certificate must ensure the date of passing the IDD is on or before 31.12.2026. Candidates in their final year/semester of graduation may also apply provisionally, subject to producing proof of having passed the graduation examination on or before 31.12.2026.

Matriculate Ex-servicemen who have obtained the Indian Army Special Certificate of Education, or the corresponding certificate in the Navy or Air Force, after completing not less than 15 years of service in the Armed Forces of the Union, are also eligible. Such certificates should be dated on or before 31.12.2026.

Age Limit (As on 01.04.2026)

Not below 20 years and not above 28 years - i.e., candidates must have been born not earlier than 02.04.1998 and not later than 01.04.2006 (both days inclusive).

Cumulative age relaxation is not available either under the above items or in combination with any other item. Candidates seeking age relaxation must submit copies of the necessary certificates at the time of joining; no change in category is permitted after registration of the online application, and no correspondence in this regard will be entertained.

Also Read: Candidates who are working in SBI in the Clerical cadre are not eligible to apply under this project, and candidates who were earlier employed in State Bank of India and resigned while in the clerical cadre are also not eligible. SBI Junior Associate Recruitment 2026 Reservation

• 4% horizontal reservation is provided to Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD), as per Section 34 of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016, for categories including Blind/Low Vision, Deaf/Hard of Hearing, locomotor disabilities (one/both arms, one/both legs, cerebral palsy, leprosy cured, dwarfism, acid attack victims, muscular dystrophy, spinal deformity/injury), Autism Spectrum Disorder (mild), intellectual disability, specific learning disability, mental illness, and multiple disabilities.

• 4.5% of total vacancies are reserved for Disabled Ex-Servicemen and dependents of servicemen killed in action, in addition to the 10% earmarked for Ex-Servicemen (a total of 14.50%). First priority in appointment goes to Disabled Ex-Servicemen, and second priority to dependents of defence personnel killed in action or severely disabled (over 50% disability attributable to defence services).

• Reservation for PwBD/XS/DXS candidates is horizontal and is included within the vacancies of the various parent categories (SC/ST/OBC/EWS/GEN) to which the candidate belongs.

• OBC vacancies are available only to candidates in the "Non-Creamy Layer"; OBC candidates in the "Creamy Layer" are not entitled to any OBC relaxation/reservation and must indicate their category as General.

• Benefit of reservation under the EWS category requires an Income and Asset Certificate for financial year 2025-26, valid for 2026-27, issued by a Competent Authority on the Government of India format.

SBI Junior Associate Recruitment 2026 Salary

The pay scale for Junior Associate (Customer Support & Sales) is Rs. 24,050-1340/3-28,070-1650/3-33,020-2000/4-41,020-2340/7-57,400-4400/1-61,800-2680/1-64,480. The starting Basic Pay is Rs. 26,730 (Rs. 24,050 plus two advance increments admissible to graduates).

The total starting emoluments of a Clerical Cadre employee posted at a Metro like Mumbai will be around Rs. 46,000 per month, inclusive of Dearness Allowance, other allowances at the current rate, and two additional increments for newly recruited graduate Junior Associates. Allowances may vary depending on the place of posting. Selected candidates will be eligible for reimbursement of various perquisites, provident fund, pension under the New Pension Scheme (Defined Contribution Benefit), medical, leave-fare, and other facilities as per Bank instructions issued from time to time.

SBI Junior Associate Recruitment 2026 Terms of Employment

Candidature will be considered only against the vacancies in the State/UT for which the candidate has applied. A candidate may appear for the online examination from any notified centre, but will have to appear for the specified opted local language test at a centre decided by the Bank in the State applied for, at their own expense. The merit list will be drawn up State-wise and category-wise, and candidates will be posted in the State for which they applied, if selected.

SBI Junior Associate Recruitment 2026 Application Fee

The fee is non-refundable and must be paid online via debit card, credit card, or Internet Banking. Once paid, the fee/intimation charges will not be refunded on any account, nor held in reserve for any other examination or selection.

SBI Junior Associate Recruitment 2026 Selection Process

Selection consists of an online Preliminary Examination, an online Main Examination, and (where applicable) a Local Language Proficiency Test.

Phase-I: Preliminary Examination

Each test has a separate timing. There is negative marking of 1/4th mark per wrong answer in the objective tests. No minimum qualifying marks are prescribed for individual tests or the aggregate score; sectional marks are not maintained. Approximately 10 times the number of vacancies in each category (subject to availability) will be shortlisted for the Main Exam, based on descending order of aggregate marks in the Preliminary Exam.

Phase-II: Main Examination

Negative marking of 1/4th mark per wrong answer applies. Candidates must score minimum qualifying percentage marks on aggregate as decided by the Bank (5% relaxation available for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD/XS/DXS candidates). Only the aggregate marks obtained in the Main Examination are considered for the final merit list; Preliminary Examination marks are not added.

Phase-III: Local Language Proficiency Test (LLPT)

Provisionally selected candidates who have not studied the specified local language of the applied State in Class 10th or 12th must appear for this test.

Candidates who produce a 10th or 12th standard mark sheet/certificate evidencing that they studied the specified local language are exempt from this test. Minimum qualifying marks apply, with a 5% relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD/XS/DXS candidates.

Trained Apprentices of SBI (whose engagement started on or after 01.01.2022 and who completed one year of branch experience successfully in SBI on or before 31.08.2026, with satisfactory conduct and performance) are given a bonus of 2.5% of maximum marks (5 marks out of 200) in the Main Examination, added to their aggregate score.

The merit list is drawn State-wise and category-wise. A wait list of up to 50% of vacancies (State-category wise) will be maintained, and candidates released from it quarterly against non-joining or resignation, valid for one year from the date of declaration of the final result.

SBI Junior Associate Recruitment 2026 Exam Centres (Tentative)

The notification provides a tentative list of examination centres, State/UT-wise, for both the Preliminary and Main Examinations. The Bank reserves the right to cancel, add, or reallot centres at its discretion.

No request for change of examination centre, date, or session will be entertained. Candidates will appear for the examination at the allotted centre at their own risk and expense.

SBI Junior Associate Recruitment 2026 Documents Required

• Scanned photograph (recent passport-style colour picture, light/white background, 4.5cm x 3.5cm, 20–50 KB, JPG/JPEG)

• Scanned signature (signed on white paper with black ink pen, 10–20 KB)

• Scanned left-hand thumb impression (on white paper with black/blue ink, 3cm x 3cm, 20–50 KB)

• Scanned hand-written declaration in English (in the prescribed format, 50–100 KB)

• A live photograph captured via webcam or mobile phone at the time of application

SBI Junior Associate Recruitment 2026 Important Instructions

• Not more than one application should be submitted by a candidate. In case of multiple applications, only the last valid (completed) application will be retained, and the fee paid for other registrations will be forfeited.

• Request for change or correction of any particulars, including category, once the application is submitted, will not be entertained under any circumstances.

• Candidates are advised to apply well before the closing date to avoid last-minute connectivity issues; SBI will not be responsible for failure to submit an application due to heavy website traffic or reasons beyond its control.
