A total of 1079 Act Apprentice slots have been announced across 23 designated trades in Nagpur Division and 8 designated trades in Motibagh Workshop, Nagpur. Vacancies are distributed across UR, SC, ST, OBC, and EWS categories with separate provisions for PH (Physically Handicapped) and Ex-Servicemen. Vacancies may be increased or decreased at the discretion of the administration.

Candidates must fulfill all eligibility conditions as on the date 19-05-2026. Before applying, candidates should ensure they fulfill the eligibility and other criteria. Engineering Graduates and Diploma Holders are not eligible to apply for apprenticeship in response to this notification as they are governed by a separate scheme of Apprenticeship. Candidates who have already done apprenticeship in any organization should not apply again - such candidatures will not be entertained.

Educational Qualification

SECR Nagpur Apprentice Recruitment 2026 - Age Limit

Candidates must be minimum 15 years and not more than 24 years of age as on 19-05-2026. Age relaxation is applicable for SC/ST (5 years), OBC (3 years), Divyang/PWBD and Ex-Servicemen (10 years). For Ex-Servicemen, an additional 10 years relaxation (plus 3 years if continuous service of 6 months) is also applicable. Age relaxation for OBC and SC/ST candidates is subject to submission of the latest caste certificate in central format. The upper age limit shall not exceed the relaxed limit in any case.

SECR Nagpur Apprentice Recruitment 2026 - Selection Process

Selection will be based on a merit list prepared for all candidates who apply against the notification. The merit list will be prepared on the basis of percentage of marks in Matriculation (minimum 50% aggregate) plus ITI marks in the trade in which Apprenticeship is to be done. For candidates from boards like Board of Secondary Education Andhra Pradesh and Board of Public Examination Kerala (grade-based systems), SECR Nagpur Division will take the midpoint of the range of grades obtained, treating each subject as out of 100 marks for average calculation. Shortlisted candidates will be subject to verification of all original testimonials and appropriate medical examination. After selection, requests to change division/unit will not be entertained.

Applications must be submitted online only through the National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS) portal at https://www.apprenticeshipindia.gov.in (Establishment Code: E05202702695 for Nagpur Division; E05202702494 for Motibagh Workshop). The online portal will be active from 19-05-2026 to 18-06-2026 (23:59 hrs).

Candidates must carefully fill their 10th and ITI marks on the portal in the qualification section - if these marks do not appear in the downloaded Excel file, the candidature will be rejected. Do not fill any other higher qualification. Candidates have to choose either Nagpur Division or Motibagh Workshop at the time of application.

A unique registration number will be issued to each applicant during online submission - candidates are advised to save/note it for future correspondence. If the EWS/Ex-Servicemen option is not available on the portal, apply under your actual category and submit the EWS/Ex-Servicemen certificate physically to this office.

Documents Required at the Time of Document Verification (on being called):

• Matriculation / 10th Standard Mark Sheet and Certificate (original)

• ITI National Trade Certificate (NTC) or Provisional Certificate from NCVT/SCVT

• SC / ST / OBC / EWS / PWBD certificate in central format (if applicable)

• Discharge Certificate (for Ex-Servicemen) or Armed Forces serving certificate (for children of Armed Forces personnel)

• Disability Certificate issued by a competent authority (for PWBD candidates) as per Annexure III/IV/V/VI

• Medical Certificate at the time of joining in prescribed proforma (signed by a Government Authorized Gazetted Doctor, not below the rank of Assistant Surgeon of Central/State Hospital)

No daily allowance, conveyance allowance, or travelling allowance will be paid to candidates called for document verification. No accommodation will be provided by Railway for apprentices.

• The decision of the administration regarding eligibility and selection at any level is final and binding.
