SSC SI CAPF Recruitment 2026 Selection Process / Scheme of Examination

Selection Procedure:
Paper-I (Computer Based Examination): Objective Multiple Choice Type. 4 Parts – General Intelligence & Reasoning (25 Qs, 25 Marks), General Knowledge & General Awareness (25 Qs, 25 Marks), Quantitative Aptitude (25 Qs, 25 Marks), English Comprehension (25 Qs, 25 Marks). Total: 100 Questions, 100 Marks. Duration: 1 Hour (with sectional timer of 15 minutes per part). Negative marking: 0.25 marks per wrong answer. NCC certificate holders get bonus marks.
Physical Standard Test (PST) / Physical Endurance Test (PET): Mandatory but qualifying in nature. Includes height, chest, and weight standards. PET includes 100m race, 1.6 km race, long jump, high jump, and shot put (for males); 100m race, 800m race, long jump, and high jump (for females). Ex-Servicemen are exempt from PET but must pass PST.
Paper-II (Computer Based Examination): Objective Multiple Choice Type. 4 Parts – General Intelligence & Reasoning (20 Qs, 40 Marks), General Knowledge & General Awareness (20 Qs, 40 Marks), Quantitative Aptitude (20 Qs, 40 Marks), English Comprehension (100 Qs, 200 Marks). Total: 160 Questions, 320 Marks. Duration: 2 Hours (with sectional timer of 20 minutes for Parts I-III and 1 Hour for Part IV). Negative marking: 0.50 marks per wrong answer. Difficulty level higher than Paper-I.
Detailed Medical Examination (DME) / Review Medical Examination (RME): Mandatory but qualifying in nature. Includes vision, physical fitness, and other medical standards.
Document Verification (DV): Conducted by CAPFs, preferably alongside DME/RME.
Final Selection: Based on performance in Paper-II (including NCC bonus marks) and post/force preferences submitted by candidates. Tie-breaking: Total marks in Paper-II → Marks in English in Paper-II → Date of Birth (older candidate ranked higher) → Alphabetical order of names.

How to Apply for SSC SI CAPF Recruitment 2026

The application procedure for is not fully online. Candidates are advised to follow the detailed instructions given below.
Complete One-Time Registration (OTR) on the SSC website at https://ssc.gov.in. Note: OTR from the old website (https://ssc.nic.in) will not be functional on the new website.
Candidates are advised to opt for Aadhaar-Based Authentication during OTR for a smoother process.
After OTR, fill in the Online Application Form for the Examination on https://ssc.gov.in or through the ‘mySSC’ mobile application (available on Google Play Store).
A real-time/live photograph will be captured during the application process. Ensure good lighting, plain background, no cap/mask/spectacles, and face fully visible.
Upload scanned signature in JPEG format (10–20 KB), dimensions approximately 6.0 cm (width) x 2.0 cm (height).
Pay the application fee of Rs. 100/- online (BHIM UPI, Net Banking, Visa/MasterCard/Maestro/RuPay Debit Card) by 01.10.2026 (23:00 hrs). Women, SC, ST, and eligible Ex-Servicemen are exempted from fee.
Submit the online application before 30.09.2026 (23:00 hrs).
If corrections are needed, use the ‘Window for Application Form Correction’ from 08.10.2026 to 10.10.2026 (23:00 hrs) by paying correction charges (Rs. 200/- for 1st correction, Rs. 500/- for 2nd correction).

SSC SI CAPF Recruitment 2026 Important Instructions
A candidate must be a citizen of India, a subject of Nepal, or a subject of Bhutan.
The Commission neither collects vacancies nor allocates candidates state-wise, region-wise, zone-wise or city-wise for this examination.
Candidates should submit applications well before the closing date to avoid last-minute website load issues; SSC is not responsible for failure to submit due to such reasons.
Applications with incomplete fee payment status will be summarily rejected.
After the correction window closes, no further change/correction/modification will be allowed under any circumstances.
Candidates have the option to choose three examination centres (in order of priority) within the same SSC region; no request for centre change will be entertained later.
Marks in multi-shift Computer Based Examinations will be normalized as per the Commission's published procedure.
There is no provision for re-evaluation/re-checking of scores.
Success in the examination confers no right to appointment unless the Commission is satisfied, after such enquiry as considered necessary, that the candidate is suitable in all respects.
Candidates should retain their application forms and exam-related documents for at least 3 years for future reference.
Information furnished in the application will be verified against original documents during Document Verification; false information will lead to summary rejection of candidature.
Various penalties (ranging from 1 to 7 years' debarment) apply for unfair means, impersonation, misbehaviour, or possession of prohibited devices during the examination - full details are in the official notice.
