Supreme Court Junior Court Assistant Eligibility Criteria
Candidates applying for Supreme Court Junior Court Assistant Recruitment 2026 should ensure that they fulfil the prescribed qualification and eligibility conditions as on 01-09-2026. Admission at all stages of the examination is purely provisional, and eligibility documents will be verified at the time of document verification.
Nationality: Candidates must be Indian citizens.
Educational Qualification: Bachelor's degree of a recognized University in India.
Computer and Typing Skills: Knowledge of computer operation with a typing speed of 35 w.p.m. in computer.
Employed Candidates: Candidates working in Central/State Government Departments, Nationalized Banks or Public Sector Undertakings must submit a 'No Objection Certificate' from their employer at the time of document verification.
Candidates Getting Employment After Applying: A candidate who is not employed at the time of application but gets employment during or after the examination process must immediately inform the Branch Officer, Recruitment Cell, at recruitment.cell@sci.nic.in, failing which an adverse inference will be drawn by the Registry.
If, at any time before or after the tests/interview, a candidate is found not to fulfil the prescribed qualification or any eligibility condition, the candidature will stand cancelled without notice.
Salary/Stipend
Selected Junior Court Assistants will be placed in Level 6 of the Pay Matrix. The salary details given in the notification are as follows:

The age of candidates will be counted as on 01-09-2026. Candidates must be at least 18 years old and not more than 30 years old, subject to the relaxations below.

Selection Procedure:
Objective Type Test (Multiple Choice Questions): Duration: 1½ hours; Maximum Marks: 100; Minimum Qualifying Marks: 50. Contains 100 questions covering General English (20), General Aptitude (15), General Knowledge (15), Provisions relating to Judiciary in the Constitution of India (15), Supreme Court Rules 2013 (10), Supreme Court Officers and Servants (Conditions of Service and Conduct) Rules 1961 (10), and Computer Knowledge (15). Negative marking of 0.25 marks for each incorrect answer. Tentatively scheduled on 20th November, 2026.
Typing Speed Test on Computer (English Language): Duration: 50 minutes; Maximum Marks: 25; Minimum Qualifying Marks: 13. Minimum speed of 35 w.p.m. with maximum 3% mistakes allowed. Conducted in Delhi/NCR. Mandatory to qualify.
Written Test (Descriptive) in English Language: Duration: 2 hours; Maximum Marks: 100; Minimum Qualifying Marks: 50. Consists of Comprehension passage, Precis Writing, and Essay Writing. Conducted in Delhi/NCR. Evaluated only for candidates who qualify the Typing Speed Test.
Interview: Maximum Marks: 25; Minimum Qualifying Marks: 13. Conducted either online or in physical mode in Delhi. Ratio of 1:3 against tentative vacancies for shortlisting.
Shortlisting Criteria: If a large number of candidates qualify the Objective Type Test (50 marks or more), candidates will be shortlisted for the second stage at a ratio of 1:10 against tentative vacancies based on merit.
