Qualification: 1) Intermediate (Biology) from UP Board or equivalent recognized examination; 2) 2 year 3 month Diploma in Veterinary Pharmacy from a legally established university/institution in India; 3) Registration with competent council/institution (if available) – currently not required as Veterinary Pharmacy Council does not exist in UP; 4) Knowledge of Hindi in Devanagari script. Preferential: Minimum 2 years service in Territorial Army OR NCC 'B' Certificate.
Age Limit: 18 to 40 years as on 1st July of the calendar year in which vacancies are advertised (i.e., 01-07-2026). Age relaxation applicable for SC/ST and other notified categories as per UP Government rules.
Pay Scale: Level-5, Pay Scale: Minimum Rs. 29,200 – Maximum Rs. 92,300

Preferential Qualification
As per Rule 9 of the UP Animal Husbandry Department Veterinary Pharmacist Service Rules, 2025, preference in direct recruitment will be given (all else being equal) to candidates who have:
Served for a minimum of 2 years in the Territorial Army, OR
Obtained a National Cadet Corps (NCC) 'B' Certificate
Important: Candidates must possess the essential qualification and all other required eligibility as on the last date of application (05.10.2026), along with the corresponding proof/certificates.

Age Relaxation
Higher maximum age applies to SC, ST, and Other Backward Class candidates of Uttar Pradesh, and other categories notified by the government from time to time, as specified in the relevant government orders.
UP government service employees get a 5-year relaxation in maximum age limit, as per Personnel Department order dated 27.08.2013.
Ex-servicemen (who have retired from service by 05.10.2026) get age relaxation as per the UP Public Service (Reservation for Physically Handicapped, Dependents of Freedom Fighters, and Ex-Servicemen) Act, 1993 (as amended).
Important: Candidates who are not original/permanent residents of Uttar Pradesh are not eligible for any reservation benefit and will be treated as Unreserved category candidates.

UPSSSC Veterinary Pharmacist Selection Process & Exam Pattern

Selection Procedure:
Stage 1 – Shortlisting based on PET-2025: Candidates will be shortlisted for the Main Written Examination based on their normalized scores in the Preliminary Eligibility Test (PET-2025). Category-wise 15 times the number of advertised posts will be shortlisted (including all candidates up to the last cut-off normalized score up to 2 decimal places). Candidates with zero or negative scores in PET-2025 will not be shortlisted.
Stage 2 – Main Written Examination: A single objective/multiple-choice question paper of 100 questions for 100 marks with a duration of 2 hours. Negative marking of 25% (1/4 mark) per wrong answer applies.
Part-1: Subject Knowledge (Veterinary Pharmacist topics) – 65 questions, 65 marks
Part-2: Computer & Information Technology – 15 questions, 15 marks
Part-3: General Information related to Uttar Pradesh – 20 questions, 20 marks
No Interview: Selection is based solely on the written examination as per UP Group ‘C’ Direct Recruitment Rules 2015 and UP Lower Level Posts Direct Recruitment (Interview Abolition) Rules 2017.
If the exam is held in multiple shifts/days, normalization of scores will be applied as per the procedure published on 22 May 2019 (Notice No. 42/05/Advt. Anu.(11)/2019).

Visit the official website upsssc.gov.in and click on the relevant advertisement under the Live Advertisement Segment on the Homepage.
Login using your PET-2025 Registration Number via OTP sent to your registered mobile number/email.
Fill in the mandatory educational qualification details including board/university name, year of passing, certificate number, and marks obtained.
Verify the auto-populated personal details (name, category, date of birth, gender, etc.) from PET-2025 records.
Photo and signature uploaded during PET-2025 will be auto-displayed and cannot be changed.
Fill in preferential qualification details (if any) and verify permanent/correspondence address.
Read the declaration carefully, tick all checkboxes, enter the verification code, and click Save and Submit.
Pay the application fee online via Credit Card / Debit Card / Internet Banking / UPI or SBI e-Challan.
After successful fee payment and reconciliation, the application form will be auto-submitted. Download and print the application form.
If fee adjustment is pending, use the ‘Update Your Transaction ID by Double Verification’ option on the Applicant Segment of the website.

Important Conditions
All reserved-category candidates from Uttar Pradesh must mark their category in the application; candidates claiming more than one reserved category will get only the single most beneficial relaxation.
Candidates who are not original residents of Uttar Pradesh are not eligible for reservation and will be considered under the Unreserved category.
For women candidates, the caste certificate issued in the name of the father's side alone will be accepted.
EWS applicants must hold an EWS certificate issued between 01.04.2026 and 05.10.2026, based on financial year 2025-26 income, valid for financial year 2026-27.
Date of birth recorded in the High School (or equivalent) certificate alone will be accepted; no other document will be considered for age proof.
Providing false information, or facts that cannot be verified against valid certificates, can lead to cancellation of candidature and debarment from this and future Commission examinations/selections.
Horizontal reservation category candidates will be adjusted against their own respective vertical (category) reservation.
Married male candidates with more than one living spouse, and women who marry such men, are not eligible unless exempted by the Governor.
The UP Public Examination (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024, dated 06.08.2024, applies to this examination; malpractice, impersonation, or concealment of material facts can lead to debarment.
